Can You Glue 3D Printed Parts? Absolutely!

One of the most common misconceptions about 3D printing is that everything has to be printed in one piece.

The truth? Sometimes, printing parts separately and assembling them is actually the smarter approach.

But here's the catch: Not all 3D printing plastics bond the same way.

PLA – Super glue (CA) works well for many applications.

PETG – CA glue or a compatible plastic adhesive can work, but surface preparation matters.

ABS & ASA – Compatible solvent-based adhesives can create strong bonds.

Pro tip: Clean your surfaces, lightly sand where appropriate, and allow the adhesive to fully cure. For load-bearing parts, consider mechanical connections for additional strength.

Can’t find the replacement part? We can recreate it.

A client brought us this broken plastic part because they couldn’t find a replacement anywhere and needed multiple copies made.

Using the damaged original as our reference, we reverse engineered the part in CAD and 3D printed new replacements.

At 3D Labs OKC, we can recreate discontinued, obsolete, or hard-to-find plastic components—even when the original is cracked or broken.

Broken gear = broken appliance, right? Not necessarily.

This customer had a working motor sitting useless because one small plastic gear had worn out — and try finding that exact part online. Instead of tossing the whole unit, we scanned the original, modeled a replacement in CAD, and printed it in a tougher material than what came from the factory.

This is a big part of what we do at 3D Labs OKC — it's not just printing cool stuff, it's fixing real problems for real people (and businesses) around OKC. Got something broken because of one dumb little part? Bring it in. We'll take a look.

Can't find that part anymore? We can print it.

This happens more than you'd think — an older vehicle, a discontinued trim piece, a bracket or clip that's been out of production for years. The dealership shrugs. The junkyard doesn't have it. You're stuck.

That's where we come in. We scan the broken part, rebuild it digitally, and print a replacement that fits like factory — sometimes stronger than the original.

If it's plastic and it's broken, there's a good chance we can bring it back.
