The School of Hard Knocks and Lessons was in session this weekend.
But yeah on small roller jumps, going faster isn’t going to make you go that much higher. Sure you need speed to clear a tabletop jump but that’s not what was at Raptor Rally. But overshooting a landing isn’t fun and can not only cause truck damage but human body damage. If we want to continue having fun at these Rally’s maybe check up a bit…🤷🏼‍♀️

Bottom line is to always be prepared and have a can do/fix it attitude. Call it stubbornness or a whatever but I wasn’t going to let a punctured radiator prevent me from getting home on time.

While out on a trail run some of my radiator fan blades broke, puncturing the radiator. I couldn’t get a replacement from any of the dealerships until Monday or Tuesday. Luckily O’Reilly’s had a replacement that was compatible (remember that even though Raptors are performance vehicles they sometimes use regular F-150 parts available and the auto parts stores). We got the new radiator in, filled it with fluid, burped the system and I was able to drive home yesterday. In case this happens again I’m adding a few items to my tool kit for the road (JB Weld Putty and Self healing silicone tape). That Radiator Seal-It stuff is an option too but didn’t want to gunk up the system. Always be prepared!

Very brief 6 month update on the CarABC screen. I still like it and think it’s an upgrade over the stock screen, but it’s not without some drawbacks/issues (most of which are addressed here). I’m working on an update video for YouTube hopefully covering all the questions I’ve seen. If you’re here at Raptor Rally 003 and have a Gen 2 and haven’t purchased one yet but curious as to how it looks, let me know and we can connect. Also if you have any lingering questions, put them in the comments and I’ll answer them in my YouTube video.
Note: Their Sync4 system was having major issues so I believe they took it off their website. Until I can confirm those issues are resolved I don’t recommended getting their Sync4 screen.
