FIREWOOD HELP!
We recently did our drawing for the dump truck load of firewood- our winner was so excited and beyond happy!
We wanted to share a resource for anyone who needs help getting firewood!
There's a program that will give you a check to pay for firewood if you meet the income limit. It's an over-the-phone 20 minute appointment to see if you qualify- but they don't start the application/appointments until October. They are on a first-come, first-served basis- so you need to call as soon as possible to get on the schedule (for October)! They will probably ask for things such as: proof of identity, proof of income, and how many people live in the house.
They also have a whole list of other resources available- like help with winterization for your house and a one-time help with electricity and/or rent.
This is through Community Action- called the Energy Assistance program: *phone numbers below*
The checks can take a while to get to the person applying- so you want to be first in line! You can have these checks written out to the firewood vendor of your choice.
We will accept those checks here at Highway 5 Landscape Supplies, LLC but they do NOT cover delivery! We will work with anyone who brings one of these checks in to get them the max amount of firewood for their allotment. (Maybe we can get a team of kids from your local school or church to do some community service and deliver the wood... or something! - Let's brainstorm!)
We wish you all the best (and warmest) winter! ❤️
