We were lucky to be there during their month long Madeira Flower Festival which took place from April 30 to May 31, 2026, featuring vibrant parades, floral carpets, and various cultural events throughout Funchal. This annual celebration highlights the island's botanical beauty and symbolizes renewal and hope.

Watching these workers having to stop and step aside every time a car needed to pass in Ponta Delgado, Portugal was just so mind boggling to us. This would never happen in the U.S.!
