The "Riflemen of Wynnes Falls" are hosting a "Trophy Shoot" December 7th.

TROPHY SHOOT

Sunday, December 7. 2025 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The awards will be custom made medals. There will not be a food concession.

Events: We'll have a variety of targets (paper and steel) for muzzle loading rifles at 25 and 50 yards. There will be a separate event for both ladies and for youth (under age 18).

Fees: $5 to register, plus $10 for each set of targets (11 shots).

Site: John Buck’s farm at 1300 Turkey C**k Mountain Road in Callands, VA. It’s within a few miles of the Harold Amos property that we used in the 1980’s and early ‘90’s. From the Callands Post Office, go west on Rt. 57, turn northwest (right) on Robinhood Road, there’s a severe dip crossing Turkey C**k creek – slow down, turn left on Turkey C**k Mountain Road. The farm is over the crest of a hill on your left; look for the steel gate. There's a creek for dishwater; bring drinking water. Campsites are primitive (a pasture).

Fi****ms: With the exceptions of the rifled musket event, we allow only traditionally-styled, muzzle loading fi****ms, using a cloth patched round ball and with open sights; no shaded or hooded sights. Arms from the era of the War of Northern Aggression (1861-1865) may use a hollow-based Minie. All shooting is off –hand.

Questions: Pres. Everett Boone (540) 814-2634 or Dave Clark (434) 836-5652
