We’re back from an incredible Azamara Greek Intensive Cruise!

Our own Maryneil Catlin recently sailed through Greece, exploring Patmos, Syros, Rhodes, Crete, Santorini & Monemvasia, and experienced firsthand what makes Azamara such a special way to travel. 💙

A weekend in NYC with my (pre)teen daughter
We’ve visited New York before and already done many of the classics. This time, we planned the weekend around a few things she really wanted to do, with plenty of time left to wander.

That’s generally our travel style: plan a few must-dos, but don’t schedule every minute. Some of the best parts happen when you aren’t rushing to the next reservation!

Our weekend included:
-The Museum of Ice Cream
-Shopping and wandering around SoHo
-A stop at BonBon for Swedish candy
-New York bagels, of course
-A beautiful day at Top of the Rock
-FAO Schwarz and a mini Jellycat experience (full experience reopens in September)
-Olivia Dean at Madison Square Garden—the reason for the trip and an amazing concert!

A few tips from our weekend:
-Choose a hotel based on what you plan to do. Hotel Seville NoMad gave us a great home base and made it easy to walk to most of the areas we wanted to visit.
-Reserve the things that matter most, but leave open space in the itinerary. We booked our major experiences in advance and still had time to shop, explore, and stop when something caught our attention.
-Group activities by neighborhood. NYC is much more enjoyable when you aren’t crisscrossing the city all day.
-Don’t automatically pay for every upgrade. We skipped the express tickets at Top of the Rock and, on the day we visited, didn’t need them.
-Build in downtime—especially before a late concert. Heading back to the hotel to rest and get ready made the evening much more enjoyable.

But as fun as everything was, the best part was simply having uninterrupted mother-daughter time together. Whether you fill the weekend with activities or spend most of it wandering, that’s what makes a trip like this so special. 💗
