Ghana, Portugal, or Colombia? Let's settle this.

I took the three destinations I get asked about most and put them head to head. Not "which is better." Which is right for who you are and what you need right now.

Cost. Flight time. How hard the language is. What the food situation looks like. Safety, honestly discussed. How much you'll walk. What the vibe actually is.

And for each one — the type of person I'd send there.

Because the best destination isn't the prettiest one. It's the one that matches what you're going for.

Somebody who needs to sit down should not be booking the trip with the 6am hikes. 😅

Being the one everybody leans on doesn't mean you don't get to exhale too.

You're the one they call. The one who remembers, who shows up, who makes it work when it stops working. And you've worn it well — because you had to, and because that's who you are. But somewhere in all that leaning-on-you, a quiet rule got written: exhale last.

Here's what I need you to hear: being needed and being rested aren't opposites. The strongest woman in the room is allowed to be the softest one too — just somewhere warm, where nobody's calling her name for a minute.

A morning where nothing is urgent. Fresh juice. A jungle view. No clock.

But you’re not here to be a statue. Sweaty by 9am on a walk through the terraces. 5-star by 9pm at a table you didn’t have to plan.

For a woman who leads, manages, and makes everything happen, that kind of freedom can feel unfamiliar. It’s also necessary.

"What's included" — what that list actually means:

🏨 Accommodations means I already stayed there, or somebody I trust did. It means I know which side of the building gets the noise.

🚐 Ground transportation means you are not standing outside an airport in a country you don't know, trying to figure out if a man with a sign is legitimate. Somebody's there. With your name.

🍳 Daily breakfast means you don't wake up on day four doing money math before coffee.

🎟️ Excursions means the good ones are booked and paid — not the ones the hotel concierge gets a kickback on.

📞 24/7 support means me. My actual phone. At 3am if it comes to that. It has come to that.

Emerald rice terraces rolling down the hills. Golden sunrise. Mist floating through the valley. No traffic. No notifications.

Those terraces are more than pretty. Balinese farmers have shared water through a cooperative system called subak for centuries, and UNESCO recognizes it as a cultural landscape. Beauty with a backbone.

We Outside: Bali is September 6 to 15, 2027. Six nights in Ubud, among the terraces. Three nights in Nusa Dua, on the beach.

Slowing down here doesn’t feel like falling behind.
