Tip 1: When it comes to Professional driving ... CDL
you can go for A, B, or C ( Depends on the weight of what you are driving ) ... CDL A ( the heaviest duty ), while CDL C- is a lighter duty - weight wise and capacity of passengers ( if any ).
Often you need specialized endorsements - example in CDL - B with Passenger & School Bus endorsements ... and each endorsememts have trainings and exams .
Professional Drivers ( just like professional football ) … gets paid driving - sometimes also called bus operators
Let me talk about CDL -B - and endorsements ….. like for Passenger endorsements for ( Tour Bus, Charters & Transit ) - to specialized School Bus endorsements - for kids on a school bus, & you'll also need to pass the airbrakes - there's exams & BTW's ( Behind the wheel - trainings & exams and company orientations & trainings as well), + background checks & physical checks ( employers will walk you through those checks ).
There are training schools and also - on the job trainings ...
So - I'll go for the later - that is - good companies with good training programs & work opps & it cones with benefits - specially if you are fulltime.
Being professional driver - you can either be fulltime or partime regular with guaranteed time & hours or be fulltime or partime flex as backup driver - to begin with - and you learn a lot with varied routes - until you decide - which one you like - if you have a choice. Remember - each company you work for is different ... ( some will, some won't ).
And because of your presence as Professionsl Driver - companies can now bid or chase after new contracts, and help bring revenue within - public or private companies.
As Bus Drivers - you are professionally in control.
You are the Pilot of your vehicle - and your dash control buttons and steering wheel -it's sometimes called - the cockpit. 🙂
