For the Eastside! (Mpls)
A primary election was held on January 21, 2020, to nominate a DFL candidate.

Aaron Neumann ran in the Democratic–Farmer–Labor (DFL) primary special election for the Minnesota House of Representatives to represent District 60A, caused by the death of DFL member Diane Loeffler. Sydney Jordan, the DFL nominee, won the special election. On November 16, 2019, District 60A 15-year incumbent Diane Loeffler died of cancer. On November 27, 2019, Governor Tim Walz announced the date

of the primary and special elections. Walz chose the date of the primary election to accommodate the large student population in the district, while still taking place before the February 11th reconvening of the 91st Minnesota Legislature. District 60A is located in Hennepin County, representing NE Minneapolis and the Como neighborhood in SE Minneapolis, collectively know as "the Eastside." Neumann ran on a platform primarily supporting the Arts and the many independent artists living in the city's Arts District (located within 60A), addressing the dire need for affordable housing, and advocating for the Mississippi River and related environmental issues. All together, Aaron called this platform, "Livability For The Eastside."
