Well, hats sales are slow but my productivity is not 😅 I might be quiet on here but behind the scenes, I’m…

• updating my website
• ordering yarn
• prepping hang tags and pom poms
• making stacks of hats and cowls!

It can be hard to be motivated during the slow time, but I know my future self will thank me! If you’re a maker, how do you utilize your slow season?

This might be the most transformational blocking I’ve experienced! Not gonna lie, this one was looking a little wonky off the needles 🥴

Please disregard the remaining ends that need to be woven in and my funky pants that don’t go with a fair isle sweater 😂

If you’re unfamiliar with blocking, it’s a process of soaking your finished knit item, blotting out the excess water, then laying flat in its desired shape. It will relax the fibers and even out your stitches.

Ever wondered how to knit a double brim (or collar)? It’s really easy!

1. Knit the brim twice as long as you want it to be
2. Fold the bottom of the cast on edge to the stitches on the needles.
3. Line up the first stitch of the cast on with the first stitch on your left needle
4. Pick up the bar of the first cast on stitch and knit it together with the first stitch on the left needle.
5. Continue around until you’ve completed all the stitches.
