Sure it's gonna be "warm" tomorrow, but don't lose your head over it. I'ma start a little later at 5 pm, and Burgeon at The Oasis will have plenty of cold beer to keep you refreshed and TACO BROS 🌮 making the scene complete with tasty street tacos. I've got 3 full boxes of freshly priced used wax that you're gonna love, so join us for a boss time.

Sorting through a record collection is often a fun detective game. Came across this oddity tonight and did a double take when I saw it has 27 songs PER SIDE...only made possible by the rarely seen (and now totally unplayable) speed of 16 2/3 RPM! Also a crazy throwback is the original receipt from Bowers Music in San Pedro showing a date of 2/16/63! . That shop appears to have closed decades ago, as did Dancetime Records, a San Diego-based label that apparently existed just to serve up Will Kennedy's music. Good times on the (vinyl) front lines.

Where my jazz people at?? I just made this amazing score, buying 800+ records from a lifelong jazz fan. Tons of great condition original LPs on Impulse, Riverside, Prestige and Blue Note, plus modern big bands like Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson and Gerald Wilson. It's gonna take me a while to sort and price 'em, but I'll keep y'all posted when they start to roll out. Ask me in person and I'll relay the seller's story...this guy saw and MET the biggest cats of the golden era of jazz!
