This is one of my newer clients, and this boat is basically brand new. Even so, the glass and gelcoat had already developed stubborn hard water and mineral staining from regular use. With the right products, techniques, and a little patience, we were able to restore it to a crystal-clear finish.

It's a great reminder that regular maintenance doesn't just keep your boat looking its best, it helps prevent hard water stains, salt buildup, and oxidation from becoming bigger (and more expensive) projects down the road.

A little before, a little after... and a lot of elbow grease!

Today's project was a bit more involved than a routine wash. We tackled oxidation and brought the gelcoat back to life, restoring the shine and helping protect the finish from the harsh marine environment.

The good news? Most boats don't need a job like this very often. With monthly or bi-weekly maintenance washes, it's much easier to stay ahead of salt, grime, and UV exposure so your boat stays clean, protected, and ready whenever it's time to cast off.

Salt, sunscreen, dirt, and harbor grime can break down vinyl fast if it’s not properly maintained. Here’s how we safely clean and protect boat seating without causing damage:

1. Gentle, marine-safe cleaner (no harsh chemicals)
2. Soft brush agitation to lift embedded grime
3. Microfiber wipe-down to avoid scratching
4. UV protectant applied to prevent cracking & fading

The result is a clean, supple vinyl with no residue or streaking, increasing the lifespan of your vinyl seats!
