From Pocahontas to Collinwood, and Lick Skillet down to Waterloo and surrounding areas across our tri-state service area, Gravel Express stays busy helping folks get their projects done.

There’s something peaceful about moving dirt. Just you, the dozer, and a job to do.

After a long stretch of hot summer days behind the controls, we're more than ready for this cooler weather.

We hit the site this week to strip the topsoil and prep a new building pad, getting down to solid ground before building it back up right.

While Paul and the homeowner touched base on the job, this little guy came over to see what was going on — then headed right back to follow his best friend around the property.

Pretty sure we passed inspection. 😉

You can’t build a solid pad on a soft foundation.

Step one for this project: strip the topsoil. That upper layer is great for growing grass, but it’s the last thing you want underneath a new structure. Before we bring a single load of material in, we dig down to a stable base.

It’s the part of the job you won’t see when the building is finished, but it’s the most important step in doing the job right. 💪

We added 20 feet to the parking area at this apartment complex in Bruton Branch and widened the driveway at the culvert.

More room for parking. Better access. A whole lot safer.
