We would now like to thank everybody for meeting us on this trip through the US. Everybody as in relatives and new friends we met in your homes, in resturants, memorials, pubs, trains, stores, streets or whereever we met you. Without all you guys our trip wouldnt have been the same, thanks to all of you and we hope to see you all again some day.
For those we planned to meet but didnt, Im sorry, but maybe next time.

I want to end this post with a Norse verse from Havamaal.

Deyr fé,
deyja frændr,
deyr sjalfr it sama,
ek veit einn,
at aldrei deyr:
dómr um dauðan hvern.

If we translate that to english it could be something like:

Our things die
Our friends die
We die ourselves
But what never die
Is the memory/words of us which we have earned.

On Tuesday we met Debra Nelson, she is one of the descendants after the Loges who settled in Elmore, Minnesota. She took us to a nice restaurant at South Lake, and we had a good meal and a good talk there. Thank you for picking us up, for the pictures and for sharing what you know about the family 🇺🇸🇳🇴

Today we had our last meeting with family in US. On our last two days we met Julie Gudmestad and her husband Jon Springer, and Julies brother Thomas (Tom) Gudmestad. They are decendants after Thore and Guri Gudmestad and cousins of the other Gudmestad I met on our tour through US.

Wednesday night we were picked up by Julie and Jon and went to Toms place and had a coffee with cake, then we went out for great dinner at a local seafood resturant.

Thursday Julie and Jon picked us up again and the we went to Toms cottage at Vashon island. We took the ferry over and spent some hours in a very quiet and peaceful place there, had some sandwiches while watching the Bald Eagle diving for fish.
Then later we went to a local resturant to grab some food before we ended this great meeting we had. To spend a day on the peaceful and quiet Vashon island was a great way to spend the last day. Thank you Julie, Jon and Tom for taking your time to meet us and taking us around, it was just great. Thanks Tom for showing us your great collection of WW1 and 2 stuff.

Our hope was to find Gabriel Larsens grave in Seattle, (Joars fathers Uncle and Kjell and Larss grandfathers uncle), but we didnt. Non the less, we now know that the picture with him in a uniform is taken about 1892-98, we know that he served in the United States Navy, we found the crematorium were he was cremeted, we even walked by the building that belonged to «Fraternel order of eagles, area 1», were he was a member, and we walked the streets were he lived.
Gabriel was a sailor, so we planted his flag in the Pacific Ocean, close to a Light House, we think he would have appreciated that 🇳🇴🇺🇸

On our list in the United States was a visit to a ghost town, if possible one that wasnt commercialized. The one we found was of course commercialized, but still quite nice. The town we found was Garnet, a gold mining town. The town is situated in the Rocky Mountain part of Montana. We had a really good time up there 👍🏻🤠🇺🇸🇳🇴
