Nobody really tells you what a safari day actually looks like.
So hereās the honest version.
Your alarm goes off around 5:30am. Itās dark. Itās cold. You question every decision that led to this moment.
Then you get in the vehicle ā and forget all of that immediately.
Morning game drives are the best drives. The light is unreal, the animals are active, and thereās something about being out there before the rest of the world wakes up that just feels different.
Youāre back at camp mid-morning for a proper breakfast ā and then? You rest. You sit. You read, nap, watch whatever is wandering past your tent.
This is not a trip where youāre running from one thing to the next. The pace is intentionally slow ā and it takes a day to settle into it.
Late afternoon, you head back out. Then sundowners somewhere in the bush ā your guide finds a spot, someone hands you a drink, and you just⦠watch the sky paint a picture in front of you.
Dinner is with whoever you came with ā family, friends ā incredible food, good wine, and that same feeling of just slowing down and being present.
Then bed. Early. Because 5:30am is coming again ā and you wonāt be mad about it.
Thatās the day. Over and over.
And somehow, it never gets old.
