PILOT CAR & HIGH POLE OPERATORS — I NEED YOUR PHOTOS!
I’m working on Volume 2 of The High Pole Handbook, which will complete my two-volume series covering the pilot-car and high-pole profession from the beginner level through seasoned operators.
For this volume, I’d like to feature real photos from real people in the pilot-car industry rather than stock photos.
I’m looking for good, clear photos showing things such as:
• High-pole setups and different mounting systems
• Pilot cars and es**rt vehicles
• Oversize and overheight loads
• Bridge and overpass approaches
• Tight turns and difficult situations
• Railroad crossings
• Utility and bucket-truck operations
• Night moves
• Construction zones
• Interesting or unusual loads
• Lead, chase, high-pole and steer operations
• Equipment setups or roadside situations
• Anything else that shows what we actually encounter out here
Some photos may be used throughout the chapters, and I’m also considering a section recognizing some of the people and companies that make up our pilot-car community.
If I use your photo, I will give you credit. Please send me your name, company name if you want it included, and a short explanation of what is happening in the picture.
By sending a photo for consideration, please make sure it is your photo or that you have permission to let me use it, and let me know that I have your permission to publish it in The High Pole Handbook — Volume 2.
I’ve spent many years in this business, including years when my wife Karen and I taught Washington PEVO certification for Evergreen Safety Council. With Volume 2, I want to pass along more of what we’ve learned and also include some of the people who are still out there doing the job every day.
