These photos are from a fire rebuild in Northern California completed in 2024. Honomobo has been building modular home fire rebuilds in California for 8 years now.

Our homes are built in our factory to 95% completion in about three months. We then ship the modules to site by truck, and install in about two weeks. Our homes are designed for extreme durability, here are some highlights:

- Structural steel frame
- Fully seam welded non-combustible corrugated steel exterior cladding
- ‘Class A’ fire-rated roof.
- Meeting or exceeding WUI (Wildlife Urban Interface - the rural wildfire exposure building code requirement code in California). This means our homes are built to reduce the risk to structures during a wildfire, which can be applied to homes being delivered anywhere in North America.
- 130 per square foot roof snow loads standard.
- Tempered Glass Windows with 0.63kPa (13 PSF) wind load resistance.
- Lateral Force Resistance applicable for all seismic zones in the United States and Canada.

Our hearts go out to those affected by wildfires in Southern California. After the devastation from wildfires it can be overwhelming to think of the rebuild process - but - there is a bright spot.

California has an extremely efficient modular program at the State level which allows standardized plan approvals to start building in about two weeks. With a modular build, the replacement home can be under construction and completed off site and at the same time the site clean up and foundation prep takes place at the lot.

The combination of expedited plan approvals locally plus modular construction makes for a truly expedited build process, compressing the time it takes to rebuild and get back into your community.

We would love to answer any questions on modular off-site construction and help homeowners to rebuild as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The Donner HS8. Sharing one of our latest projects coming to California. This two story Honomobo is tucked into an amazing forested lot in Truckee with incredible valley views and an incredible immersion into nature. The home and decks will be built in factory and installed in a matter of weeks on site during the spring and summer of 2025. In a ski community with a short build season the advantages of modular are amplified immensely. We can't wait to share progress photos as the project progresses.
