Pennsylvanias smallest church with a big story….

Michael Decker was a German immigrant working in a local apple orchard when he fell and injuried his back. Being a religious man, he prayed for healing with the promise of building this church.
In 1856, he built the 12X18 one room chapel that is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
Not only the smallest church in PA, but one of the smallest in the US!

We watched turkey vultures for a while…just looked like they were catching the wind and flying for fun…I understand that my feathered friends.
The water is the Pine Creek, hence the other name -The Pine Creek Gorge.
It is near Wellsboro, which earned its own post coming up. Also, a funny thing happened to us on the way there- which also earned its own post😂

Found this check off list last night from Calvin Hikes, I followed the rules and posted it where he wanted it,but also figured that it was worth a share on our page! All by motorcycle, all leaving out of Maryland before the move and some Pa after the move! 🌲🌳🌲🌳🇺🇸

Leaving out of Kinzua, we picked up Lindholm Rd to Rt 59 at Ormsby and picked up 6 east at Smethport. This was at the recommendation of two super cool guys, one on a BMW and the other on a Harley that we talked to for a long time and never exchanged names🫩, we would run into them again later..
These are a few shots from the road and the towns. Route 6 was a good ride, the road is even better once you hit Potter County. Lunch was from Fezz’s Diner, which earned its own post 😉 which will be coming up!

One of the first “attractions” of the trip on 120 leaving from Lock Haven heading west. A short ride out of Lock Haven is Hyner View state park. To get to the top, it is about 5 miles, give or take up a 1.5 lane (def not 2 whole lanes😂) twisting to the top. The road is paved and in decent shape. Just watch for oncoming drivers who don’t know how to share. The view from the top is awesome. They launch hang gliders from there, and there was one there, but not launching.
