Cruise ships can be AMAZING for families with children! ❤️ Most major cruise lines offer supervised kids clubs with age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, parties, and more — and regular kids club programming is often included in your cruise fare! 🙌

👶 Traveling with a baby or toddler?

Some ships also offer nursery or childcare options for the littlest cruisers for an additional hourly fee. Availability, ages, and pricing vary by cruise line and ship, which is why choosing the right ship for your family's ages can make such a difference.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is, “I can’t take a cruise because I don’t have a passport.”

That isn’t always true! 🙌

For many U.S. citizens taking a closed-loop cruise—a cruise that leaves from and returns to the same U.S. port—you may be able to travel with a certified birth certificate + government-issued photo ID instead of a passport.

So, if not having a passport has been the one thing keeping your family from considering a cruise, you may have more options than you realized! 🛳️☀️

⚠️ There are exceptions. Documentation requirements depend on the itinerary, destinations, cruise line, citizenship, and other factors, so never assume your particular cruise qualifies. And even when a passport isn't required, I still recommend having one when possible—it can make getting home much easier if an unexpected situation occurs while you're outside the U.S.

Ski trips aren’t just for experienced skiers—or families with older kids! Many ski resorts are designed with families in mind, with beginner slopes, ski lessons for young children, magic carpets, tubing, snow play, ice skating, and plenty to do even if everyone doesn’t ski. ❤️
And yes, little ones can learn, too! Many resorts offer ski programs beginning around age 3, although ages and programs vary by resort.
🏔️ A few tips when planning your family ski vacation:
• January through March is typically a great window for snow conditions.
• Consider traveling midweek for potentially smaller crowds and better rates.
• Book ski school EARLY—popular lesson times can fill quickly!
• Look for resorts with on-site lodging, rentals, lessons, and activities to make traveling with kids much easier.
Colorado, Utah, and Vermont are just a few places with some wonderful options for families. And remember—a ski vacation doesn't mean your family has to spend every minute skiing! ☕🛷❄️
