We’re having a liiiittle celebration today… because now you can find Pretty Okay Candles in THREE (3!) retail stores in the St. Louis area.

I am freshly stocked up at Orange Pop on Sidney Street in STL Lou Belle and Bing in Collinsville, AND TBR Books O’Fallon IL.

I’m so grateful to the owners of these three amazing, women-led places for working with me.

It’s a weird feeling, going from exclusively selling online out of my upstairs closet and doing the seasonal pop-ups to being in actual stores. Where people actually go to shop. And still selling online from my upstairs closet (for now).

I’m emotional, but it’s mainly the emotion of gratitude for whatever force decided to look favorably on me in order for this to happen, and to the outstanding people I’ve met and sold to over Etsy and through local STL events over the last 3 years.

If you see my candles out and about at these shops, please send me a photo so I can cry about it even more.

Answer: YES. The crumbles in the pumpkin pie jar candles are WAX! But goddamn if I don’t work overtime to get that wax extra crumbly.

Orange Pop () is OPEN! And Pretty Okay Candles is on the shelves 🎉

Stop by until 4PM at 2100 Sidney St. to peek at the exclusive scents and styles I whipped up for them, Dreamsicle Float and Sidney Street Soda! There are a bunch of other local artisans on the shelf, too, along with some very cool STL merch and prints.

Here’s what I can say about yesterday.

I do a lot of events, all over the STL Metro. Consistently, I have never been met with more kindness, friendliness, and excitement than when I’m on Macklind.

The folks at checking on me through the day to see if I needed water and bringing me treats.

Last year, my husband thought he lost his wedding ring on the lawn at and without us asking, they were outside digging through the grass to help find it.

The members of the district and other vendors stopping by to chat or buy or see how I’m doing.

AND THE RESIDENTS. I left my booth yesterday with 5 candles leftover. F I V E. I arrived with much more than that. Everyone who bought something had a kind word or a compliment about my work.

On the way to my car, a complete stranger came out of their house to help me get my tables in my car and then gave me advice on my Tiguan and a part recall??? (Thanks, Ed)

Just an incredible experience, every single time I’m there. Thank you all, so, so, so much. Whatever chemicals you’re pumping into the air in this neighborhood, please keep doing it.

I have some fun experiments going for Halloween and the holidays that I hope to unveil soon. In the meantime, everything on the Etsy shop is 20% off so I can make some space in the candle lab for my new children.

I know someone can back me up on this… is there no better feeling than working on the first batch after freshly wax scraping and scrubbing your table?

Next crafting room upgrade is a stainless steel table because I am OVER IT 😮‍💨

At this point I’m just tableclothing it with butcher paper because you know I’m gonna spill something at some point.
