Often with our industry you have to move early on Sunday morning. Low traffic, we pulled this home at daybreak this morning in Jefferson City, MO heading West bound on East bound Highway 50 to avoid overhead clearance overpass issue. Great job today by the team. EHM Strong. 💪 💪

SAVED!!

Built in 1886, 1000 Morrison Ave in the LaSalle Park neighborhood of St Louis. The Landmarks Association of St Louis thought they had exhausted all avenues to repair this structure. EHM was then contacted to evaluate whether or not this building could be saved.

Thanks to the ingenuity of one of our Ace Team leaders Josh Haar, we quickly and safely secured the building to be restored.

Another home is now on its new foundation. This home was previously supported by a 6-foot basement, while the other half was on a 2-foot crawl space. After elevating the home, we excavated down to create a full 12-foot basement for the home and the new addition. EHM installed new 18-inch structural steel, which will allow for only two column posts in the new basement. The home, including the addition, will measure 48 feet wide and 67 feet long.

80’ x 32’ two story with massive masonry fireplace elevated to replace failing concrete basement due to poor soil conditions at the subgrade. This home will have two feet of clean compacted rock rock placed at subgrade. New footings and new nine foot basement will then be constructed.

EHM was engaged to re-level and shore a two-story manufacturing building constructed in 1839. Schaeffer Oil Manufacturing in downtown St. Louis has been occupying this building since the 1800s. Over time, the building had subsided 6.5 inches in one area. We had to work within very limited space, specifically two 2’x2’ areas, to navigate around giant oil barrels and raise the basement wood timber, two floors, and the roof to level. A new concrete footing will be poured, and the wood columns will be replaced with steel. Great job guys.

The EHM road trip has been completed. We started in Denver, CO, where we loaded, relocated, and unloaded two 150-ton electrical transformers over a distance of 26 miles. Then we proceeded to Martha’s Vineyard to assist a friend and colleague in completing a project. Additionally, we lowered another home in Connecticut while awaiting the completion of carpentry work in Martha’s Vineyard. Great job guys!!
