ππ Getting Ready to Go! ππ
It's my turn again and I am NOT playing around with this Labor Day weekend itinerary. πβ¨ We are packing SO much into a Chicago road trip and I genuinely cannot decide what I'm most excited about! π
π We're starting with some Really Significant History β Pullman National Historical Park and the newly designated Emmett Till & Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument. ποΈ These are the kinds of stops that matter. The kind that stay with you. I am so looking forward to experiencing both.
π Then things get a littleβ¦ eclectic. π
We're tracking down the World's Largest Stained Glass Window πͺ β and while we're in the area, keeping an eye out for Resurrection Mary, Chicago's most famous hitchhiking ghost. π» No big deal. π±
There's a World's Largest Bronze Gorilla on this itinerary. π¦ Obviously we're stopping.
Six Flags Great America is celebrating its 50th Anniversary Season and you KNOW I had to be there for that. π’π Roller coasters, milestone moments, all of it.
Indiana Dunes National Park for a little peace and beauty after all that chaos. ποΈ Another NPS passport stamp for the collection! πͺͺ
And then the World's Largest hits keep coming β
πͺ World's Largest Rail Splitter Covered Wagon
πͺ’ World's Largest Square Knot
π We're wrapping up at the Springfield 1908 Race Riot National Monument β another deeply important piece of American history that doesn't get nearly enough attention. ποΈ
πββοΈ This trip has everything. History that moves you, coasters that terrify you, roadside attractions that confuse you, and a ghost that may or may not hitch a ride home with us. π»π Stay tuned!
