Meet Beatrice Feliu Espada, owner of located in Atlanta, GA

Beatrice created the first plant-based feminine care system in America. offerings include everything from washes, wipes, tampons, and pads, to v***a cream.

The whole reason Beatrice started was because she was suffering from bacterial vaginosis for months and couldn't get relief. One night, an ancestor visited her in a dream and gifted her with a vision to heal herself. She created The Honey Pot Co to solve for what other brands wouldn't, using the power of herbs.

Rather than stay locked in a vicious cycle of taking antibiotics that would temporarily fight the infection only for it to reemerge later, Beatrice charged ahead and created The Honey Pot Feminine Wash - her very own natural healing aid.

Meet Malcom Crittenden, owner of located in Lithonia, GA.

For most black neighborhoods in America, traveling outside of our communities for healthier options isn’t unheard of. CEO Malcom started to solve that problem.

Malcom’s journey started May 6, 2014 after being admitted into the hospital with a sugar level over 400. He was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Doctors had him on 3 different medications. After being diagnosed with diabetes Malcom started to research more about alkaline water and how it helps to alkaline the body. However he couldn’t help but noticed it was hard finding natural alkaline water, especially for people not close to certain markets.

You can now find in 20 different states and two countries. Mostly distributed in black communities around the nation.

Malcom wanted everyone to have a way to enjoy pure spring alkaline water. After a huge change in his diet and drinking pure spring alkaline water, Malcom has now been off all medications and diabetes free.

Rob founded brand in 2019, exactly 138 years after Lewis Howard Latimer (a black inventor) who invented the carbon filament used to pave the way for the practicality and longevity of today’s light bulbs.

The word “Ujamaa” is Swahili in origin. The term centers around the notion of “extended family”, and it focuses on the concept of self-reliance, and the practice of uplifting one's community via family and cooperative economic achievement.

Specializing in residential, commercial, and industrial LED lighting solutions. Rob has shown us that not only did a black man help invent the light bulb, but now we can take ownership.

Meet Intisar Mahdi and her husband, Rashid, owners of located in Columbus, Ohio.

After seeing our community ignored for decades by other major band-aid brands, was founded in 2018 by Intisar Mahdi and her husband, Rashid. The powerful couple became inspired to provide a better experience for their family. “The bandages we were buying did not match the flesh of our family,” Intisar told Vogue from their home in Columbus, Ohio, “so we thought to create our own company.”

Many people don’t realize that bandages are meant to be the color of your flesh. That’s likely because bandages have always come in one shade deemed to be “neutral,” ignoring the reality of varied skin tones. After 100 years in business, Band-Aid finally expanded its shade range June of 2020. But only after companies like had already stepped up to the plate and filled in the gap for our community ✊🏾
