There is winter weather moving in with projections up to .25” of ice accumulations.
This added weight in combination with the winds can lead to broken branches, split trees, and even uprooted trees.

Rains like we have been receiving in Missouri can add stress and risk to many trees. Over saturation of the soil for trees that have been pruned improperly, have existing root damage, or are weighted improperly have an increase chance of failure.

Now is the time of year where many people have tree work performed. Before you have your tree prunes, talk with a certified arborist about what needs to be done. Tree-topping and/or canopy reduction are terms used to do things like the photo below.

Pruning like this is detrimental to the health and and vigor of the tree. Increasing the opportunity for pests, diseases, and other biotic stressors to impair your tree.
