Somewhere along the way, we started treating travel like it needed a reason.

A birthday.
A milestone.
A celebration.
The “perfect” time.

But sometimes the reason can simply be:

I want to go.

You don’t have to wait for life to hand you a special occasion to experience something new.

Book the weekend.
Take the PTO.
Visit the city that’s been sitting on your list.

There will always be another reason to wait.

Sometimes you just have to decide it’s time to go. ✈️

Planning an international trip doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. ✈️

I’ve learned that the easiest trips usually come from having a simple plan in place before you go — enough structure to keep things smooth, but not so much that every minute feels scheduled.

I start with the non-negotiables, build a loose itinerary, keep everything organized, research transportation ahead of time, separate my must-do experiences from the nice-to-do extras, and pack based on what I’ll actually be doing.

That little bit of planning makes it much easier to enjoy the trip once I’m there.

BONUS TIP: Always check the current travel and entry requirements for your destination before you leave — passport validity, visa or travel authorization requirements, health or vaccination rules, and any destination-specific entry documents. Requirements can change, so I like to double-check them again closer to departure.

The goal isn’t to plan every moment.

It’s to plan enough that you can actually enjoy the trip. 🌎

London is one of those cities that can feel a little overwhelming at first because there’s so much to see and do. 🇬🇧✨
A few things I’d recommend for a first trip:
Learn the train system early.
Don’t try to see everything.
Leave time for pubs, neighborhoods, and spontaneous stops.
Stay somewhere with easy transportation.
And just know now… one trip probably won’t be enough. 😂
Some of my favorite travel memories come from the moments that weren’t overly planned, and London was definitely one of those trips.

London during the holidays was one of those trips that felt even better than I imagined. 🇬🇧✨

The lights.
The chilly evenings.
The cozy pubs.
Walking through the city at night.

I visited in November, and I loved seeing London just as everything was starting to feel festive.

There’s something about exploring a city when it’s dressed up for the holidays that makes the whole trip feel a little more magical.

And honestly? I would absolutely go back during this time of year.

If London has been sitting on your travel list, November and December might be the perfect excuse to finally make it happen. ✈️

Sometimes you don’t need a full week off—you just need a plane ticket and a long weekend. ✈️

If you’re looking for a quick getaway that still feels like a real trip, these are three cities I’d happily recommend:

🇺🇸 Washington, DC — for history, museums, beautiful neighborhoods and plenty to explore

🌆 Chicago — for architecture, food, city views and that big-city energy

🎰 Las Vegas — for great restaurants, entertainment, shows and a fun escape

The best part? You can experience a lot in just a few days without having to turn it into a full vacation.

I’m a Florida girl, a proud mom, a traveler, and someone who is learning to embrace this season of life with a little more freedom, a lot more adventure, and a growing list of places I still want to see. 🌎

Travel has become so much more than just getting away for me. It’s about stepping outside of the everyday routine, experiencing something new, creating memories, and sometimes even rediscovering parts of yourself along the way.

As life changes and new chapters begin, I’ve realized I don’t want to keep waiting for the “perfect” time.

Try the new thing.
