That’s a wrap, Tampa Bay! Two evenings, countless conversations, fresh perspectives, and plenty to think about. The Life After Cars Book Tour brought people together to imagine what our city could become when we rethink how we move, connect, and live.

A heartfelt thank-you to The War on Cars podcast for spending the last two days with Tampa Bay, and to our incredible partners and sponsors who helped make these conversations possible.

It’s inspiring to see so many people come together around a shared vision for Tampa Bay that’s more resilient, sustainable, walkable, bikeable, and transit-friendly. Because building a better city starts with asking questions, challenging the status quo, and imagining what’s possible when our streets and communities work for everyone.

Now it’s time to turn conversation into action. Show up at public meetings, speak up for safer streets, support better walking, biking, and transit connections, and urge our local leaders to put people at the heart of transportation decisions. The future of Tampa isn’t something we simply wait for—it’s something we build together.

Our crew risked potential downpour to knock doors for public transit this morning in Progress Village! The six of us knocked on over 100 doors, and had great conversations with quite a few people who hadn't heard about Amendment 3, nor Neil and Aileen, so I'd say it was well worth the time 😁 Thank you all! We'll hopefully see more folks at the next THREE remaining "canvass for transit" events every Saturday until the election!
