QC is proud to spotlight Fred Marsicano, Sr. Vice President - Safety, Security & Risk Management, and his leadership in advancing QC’s safety culture. Before joining QC, Fred spent 21 years in the logistics industry as a safety expert, and earned a Master's degree in Safety Sciences.

Since joining QC, Fred has focused on strengthening the alignment between safety policies, communication, and field ex*****on. He emphasizes that safety is not a program, but a continuous process driven by people, clear expectations, and consistent ex*****on. He also highlights the importance of collaboration between safety, operations, and drivers in maintaining and improving performance across the organization.

Bruce Gacsal, Sr. Director - Security, stated, "What stands out most about Fred is that he leads by example. The expectations he has for his team are the same expectations he has for himself, and he never asks anyone to do something he hasn’t done. When he joined QC, he made it a priority to get out into the field and meet his team because he believes leadership starts with understanding the work and the people doing it. He’s extremely knowledgeable, but also very approachable. He has an open-door policy for anyone, and you’ll often hear people say he would stop and help any stranger if given the chance. That says everything about him. He genuinely cares, doesn’t judge people, and always wants to help others succeed."

Please join us in recognizing Fred for his leadership, dedication, and commitment to safety across QC.

June is Safety Month. Follow us for safety tips!

When operating a CMV, professional drivers must be mindful of laws that restrict them from certain lanes. Driving in the right-hand lane when appropriate can help reduce the risk of vehicles passing on the truck's right side, where visibility is more limited.

So when you’re out on the road, be sure to maintain the right lane whenever possible to keep yourself and the motoring public safe. Thank you to the professional drivers who keep a watchful eye on the road ahead and are ready for anything while behind the wheel!

June is Safety Month. Follow us for safety tips!

Are your tires properly inflated? Professional drivers know that underinflated tires:

- Damage the sidewall.
- Create excessive heat, which can lead to a tire fire.
- Lead to poor handling.
- Increase the risk of flats.
- Are a contributing factor to rollovers.

Meanwhile, overinflated tires can be just as dangerous. Overinflated tires:

- Create excessive heat, which can lead to a tire fire.
- Reduces the amount of rubber making contact with the roadway, which reduces traction.
- Increase suspension wear.
- Increase the risk of a blowout.

A tire pressure gauge and a thorough pre-trip inspection help prevent these issues. Thank you to all of our professional drivers who do the little things right to keep themselves and the public safe while on the road!
