Costa Rica has been on my radar for a while, and the more I research it for clients, the more I want to go myself.

The nature, the wildlife, the beaches. It delivers on all of it, and the range of stays available is genuinely impressive, from luxury safari tents in the rainforest to a Ritz-Carlton Reserve on a protected stretch of coastline. JW Marriott is opening their first all-inclusive in Costa Rica in September and I’m already keeping an eye on it.

How lucky are those of us who still have our moms? And if you like to travel with her? Even luckier.

Right after Thanksgiving, my mom and I spent a long weekend in Charleston and it was the perfect getaway for us. Good food, good conversation, and somewhere new to explore together.
