Have you heard of baptism before? It's more than just an outward declaration of faith
It is for the complete remission of sins in our lives (Luke 24:46-47, Acts 2:38)
Romans 6:3-6 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
Romans 6:14 "For sin shall not have dominion over you:"
Romans 6:17-18 "But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness."
We hear or read the word, then obey. God does the work of remitting sin and saving us, but we are required to obey Gods word and take action on what we know. It is our actions that declare what we truly believe.
1 Peter 3:21 “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”
Mark 16:16 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
If you love the Lord and want a stronger relationship with Him, but maybe you're struggling with sin in your life or maybe you don't feel as close to Him as you'd like, I would strongly encourage you to consider being baptized, or being re-baptized in the name of Jesus. There is no other name whereby we must be saved according to Acts 4:10-12. If you were baptized in any other name or titles, that's great that you took a step closer in pursuing the Lord. However, consider being re-baptized in Jesus name and getting His name and His blood applied to your life.
Once I found this for myself through reading the Bible and praying, I (Dennie) was re-baptized in the name of Jesus and it completely changed my life. That is why I am sharing this with you, the purge family.
If you have questions or would like to talk about this deeper please send me a message. This is truly the only thing that matters to me in this world, life is short and fleeting quickly, but eternity is forever. So, please reach out, I don't know everything in the Bible but together we can study and find the answers. I want to know the truth!
I love you all, and may God bless you all today!
