The day after graduation, we picked up our new Sailor, Logan, and headed to Navy Pier! ⚓️🇺🇸

We walked around Navy Pier for a while and then decided, “Hey, why not walk ALL the way to the Bean?” 😂 So off we went! It was a beautiful, scenic route along the lake, through Chicago, and we definitely got our steps in for the day. I’m pretty sure my feet were wondering if this trip was supposed to be a vacation or a marathon! 🤣

While at the Bean we had Chicago dogs for lunch (and of course, I didn’t take a single picture because apparently I was too busy eating 🌭😂) and then wandered around Chicago for a bit before hopping on a boat along the river for an architecture tour.

Our tour guide was fantastic and gave us all kinds of interesting history about the buildings, the Chicago River, and the city. It was such a fun way to see Chicago from a completely different perspective!

And then there was Logan… 😴

That boy was SO tired that he actually fell asleep sitting up on the boat! But honestly, none of us were surprised. He has had the amazing ability to sleep absolutely ANYWHERE since the day he was born. It doesn’t matter if he’s sitting, laying down, in a car, on the floor, on a boat, or somewhere in between—if he’s tired, he’s out! He says he can even fall asleep standing up now!

It was such a fun day with almost 14,000 steps exploring Chicago, making memories, and spending time with our new Sailor. ❤️⚓️

If you guys ever travel through Chicago and want to go to a great dinner, check this place out!

The night of Logan’s graduation, we went to a Michelin Star restaurant called Sepia in downtown Chicago. It was so good. The plating was amazing and full of color and texture. 😍

It was very dark in there so the pictures don’t do it justice. But just know this color lover struggled to destroy the beauty by eating it. Although after the first bite from each plate, I was unstoppable.

All the food was amazing! 😀

We went to what’s called the Sarge’s dinner on our first night in Great Lakes for our Grandson’s Navy graduation. This was the night before the graduation. They had great food, a raffle with great prizes and they gave out some really useful information to know about the graduation. Things like how to get to the base the fastest way in the morning, what gate to go to, what to have with us at the gate, how long graduation would be, etc. If you sign up for this dinner early, they sit you at tables with other families that have kids in the same division. We were walk ins so we sat at a different table with some really nice people. It was a fun night for Navy families to mingle and learn about all the things.

5 of us traveled to Great Lakes Illinois for my Grandson’s Navy graduation last week. We were lucky enough to have 4 days with him before he had to report back. You can bet we crammed all we could into those 4 days!

Stay tuned as I continue to post about all the fun we had in the next few days.

In the mean time, look how handsome he is in his uniform!

We couldn’t be more proud of him! ❤️

Happy 4th! Stay safe and we hope you all are enjoying family, friends, good food and Fireworks! 🇺🇸

Camping at Roper Lake this week has us appreciating this little Arizona gem even more. ❤️

Did you know that Roper Lake isn’t actually a natural lake? It was created in the 1970s and became part of Arizona’s state park system in 1975. What started as ranch land and a recreation area was transformed into the beautiful desert oasis we enjoy today.

Nestled at the base of Mount Graham just outside Safford, Roper Lake may be small, but it offers some of the best views around. Between the fishing, camping, wildlife, and the natural hot spring, it’s easy to see why it’s been a favorite getaway for Arizona families for generations.

We just spent a couple days there soaking up the sunshine, enjoying the mountain views, and making memories with the dogs. Red is on her very first camping trip and doing fantastic! Even with temperatures hitting 100°, you’ll still find us relaxing under the umbrella with a cold drink, watching the sunset over the lake.

Sometimes the best adventures aren’t far from home—they’re right here in our own Arizona backyard. 🌵☀️🏕️

Camping with dogs is always an adventure! These two crack me up everyday!! The best thing we ever did for Roo was to get her a little sister!

You guys, this is me,,, my day job! 🐾

If you live in Tucson or are just passing through and your dog (or cat!) is due for a nail trim, I’d love to help. Whether you stop by my grooming shop or prefer the convenience of me coming to you, I’ve got you covered.

Nail care is often one of the most overlooked parts of pet care, but it’s so important for your pet’s comfort and health. Let’s make sure those paws stay happy and those nails stay trimmed! 🐶🐱

Send me a text to schedule an appointment! 😊

Anniversary getaway mode: activated!

Scott and I snuck away to Roper Lake for a couple of days to celebrate our anniversary. Of course, all three dogs came along, and this is little Red’s very first camping trip! At only 10 months old, she’s been an absolute rockstar camper so far.

It’s a balmy 100°, but that hasn’t stopped us from enjoying a cold drink on the patio under the umbrella. We may be sweating a little, but we’re calling it “desert glamping.” 😆

Last night’s sunset put on quite a show, and we’re hoping tonight’s is just as good. We’ll head home tomorrow afternoon and then probably start planning our next adventure. Sedona is already on the list for fall, but we’re thinking about adding another destination too.

Has anyone been to Yosemite? It’s definitely on our bucket list! I’d love to hear your tips, favorite spots, or “don’t miss” recommendations. 😀🌄🐾

My son made this and gave it to me for Mother’s Day. I planted it this morning and just love how it turned out. 😀
