🚨 Your EMA Friday Noon 🕛 ANNOUNCEMENTS and Updates!!

‼️A few quick updates following Friday morning’s Emergency Management Agency Team meeting:

· The emergency shelter at Sweetwater Gym is officially closed.

· Distribution of water, tarps and other items will continue on Friday at Springfield Baptist Church, Thomson House of God, Sweetwater Baptist Church, and Dearing Baptist Church. We will announce the opening times later this morning.

· The McDuffie County landfill is open for the disposal of household garbage from 8-5 p.m. on today, and 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Drop off fees are waived, and we ask that no trailers are used.

· There are five locations for disposal of spoiled foods are: Ware Street behind the Family Y, former mobile home park location off Pitts Street, near the McDuffie Animal Shelter off White Oak Street, off Bethany Drive behind the old gym and in Northview Estates subdivision. The containers will only be available until 5 p.m. today. Please do not use these trash containers for storm debris.

· Today is the last day for the Community Help Line is today. Please call 762-445-0005 for needs assessments for water, food, possible local transportation and to offer volunteer assistance. The call center is not currently taking calls for debris.

· If you have photos of storm damage, please share them (and location/damage information) with us at: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).

· The government center remains closed to the public. It is currently scheduled to reopen on Monday, Oct. 7.

· The curfew remains in place nightly from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.
