One Small Act Miami County Joins National American Empathy Project to Serve Local Families

Troy, Ohio — One Small Act Miami County is proud to announce its participation in the National American Empathy Project, a nationwide initiative focused on meeting community needs through compassion, dignity, and connection. This local effort is funded by the American Humanist Association, helping bring vital resources directly to families in Miami County.

As part of this initiative, One Small Act Miami County will be providing Meals in a Bag to 100 families on May 2, 2026, offering accessible, practical food support for those who need it most. Each meal kit is designed to be easy to prepare and includes an opportunity to sample the meal before taking it home.

In addition to food support, families will also receive oral hygiene kits generously donated by Challenger Aviation Products, as well as period kits provided by the Troy-Miami County Public Library. These essential items aim to support overall health and well-being while reducing everyday barriers for individuals and families.

“This project is about more than just meeting immediate needs—it’s about showing up for our community with empathy and care,” said Heather Rocco, President of One Small Act Miami County. “We are grateful for the partnerships and support that make this possible.”

The American Empathy Project reflects a shared mission: to create stronger, more connected communities through simple acts of kindness and meaningful support.
