Industry PS, Dr. Juma Mukhwana, this morning received Tax Proposals from members of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) led by Chief Executive, Tobias Alando, for the F/Y 2025/2026. The team reviewed sector-specific proposals, aimed at spurring manufacturing in the country.
Among the proposal were exemption of VAT on Plant and industrial machinery, proposals to remove Withholding VAT, reduction of Corporate Tax to 25% and exempting local leather manufacturers from paying excise duty.

Industry PS, Dr. Juma Mukhwana, this morning received Tax Proposals from members of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) led by Chief Executive, Tobias Alando, for the F/Y 2025/2026. The team reviewed sector-specific proposals, aimed at spurring manufacturing in the country.
Among the proposal were exemption of VAT on Plant and industrial machinery, proposals to remove Withholding VAT, reduction of Corporate Tax to 25% and exempting local leather manufacturers from paying excise duty.
These, among other proposals, would ensure sustainability of the sector as well as attracting investors, further catapulting Kenya into an industrial hub as envisaged in The BETA Plan.
