I am with The Organization APPA (International Aid NGO). An NGO organization that works to initiate the danger of racial conflicts and devotes efforts toward development for the poor and minorities in a heterogeneous population. It has been 13 years since our organization started volunteering in the downtown Washington, D.C. area where countless murders take place. There have been many unbelievabl
e incidents. Brother Parker a drug addict who spent 7 years in prison become a pastor and is now in charge of our programs ministry to the poor. Sister and brother Mary, Billy, Alice, Sam, John, Harry, James, Johan, Rodney, and Mike became Our community leader as well. Our organization is constantly recruiting volunteers. You can make a positive difference by giving as little as an hour or two a week. No amount of time is too little. People can volunteer on line as well for virtual phone volunteering. We hope everyone can use their time and talents to help the poor in this cosmopolitan city and in the rest of the world. Online volunteers are needed for online translation and editing and telephone counseling as well as online tutoring and mentoring for children etc.. We also need volunteers for Legal Aid, Food distribution, car donation, laptop donations, farming, judicial counseling, computer touring, counseling on the telephone, food donations, Afterschool tutoring for the children, ESL for immigrants, and clothes donations etc..
