We're making steady progress replacing dozens of pilings damaged by winter storms and icing. The outboard area (F Section), A, B, C dockage sections are complete. The piling barge is focusing now on D & E sections. We appreciate boat owners for their understanding and flexibility as we work to repair and upgrade our marina infrastructure.

The Wellfleet Harbor Department has created a detailed "to do" list encompassing both large and small projects at the marina. While projects like building new floats or driving pilings are priorities, we are also catching up on smaller items that need attention. We've arranged for new granite caps to finish a stone retaining wall built many years ago at the launch ramp.

Don't let the piling driver barge or inclement weather deceive you-- the outboard floats (F Section) are installed and ready to accommodate boat owners. The Wellfleet Harbor Department team worked all winter to construct these very stable, strong new floats, attaching them this week to the newly installed pilings. We hope that mariners and guests enjoy them for many years to come.

Today is piling day at the Marina. Work has begun on securing the F section by adding multiple additional pilings for safety. The main section running along the pier will be next. Stop by and check out the operation!

The new transient and pump out floats are in the water, and ready for the 2026 boating season. The Wellfleet Harbor Department team has been busy throughout the off-season building dozens of sturdy new floats to service the outboard (F Section) and transient areas. We're confident that these floats will provide many years of durable use as we work to meet industry standards and mariner expectations here at the marina.

For anyone going to the harbor today. The towns of Wellfleet, Provincetown and Truro are conducting joint training on oil spill containment. There is no oil spill. The Wellfleet Fire Department and Harbormaster Department are practicing should one occur.

As a friendly reminder, permit applications are required in order to renew or obtain your annual slip or mooring for the Summer Season (May 15, 2026 – November 1, 2026). All seasonal fees must also be paid in full prior to the start of the season. Due to delays in issuing invoices this year, we extended the payment and application deadline to May 20th.

Important: Failure to submit your permit application and remit payment by May 20, 2026, will result in forfeiture of your slip or mooring assignment. Any unclaimed slips or moorings will be offered to the next eligible individual on the section waitlist. Please do not overlook these requirements.

Current insurance and registration are also required prior to the boat entering the water. These documents can be uploaded via Dockwa.com; dropped off locally (our May hours beginning on the 15th are 8-5 7 days a week); or emailed.

The 2026 opening date for the Wellfleet Marina will be May 15, 2026. We are working on repairing the infrastructure from a very difficult winter. More information will be posted when available.

Our very own Wendy Liddy attended Safety and Survival Training last week alongside Town Shellfish Constable Nancy Civetta. The course was delivered by Fishing Partnership Support Services and conducted by U.S. Coast Guard–certified fishing vessel safety instructors.
