Ohio has lots of historic bridges and here are a dozen or so really interesting ones in Preble County, including 8 covered bridges. Did you know they have the 2nd oldest covered bridge in the country? Very cool little drive!

Exploring sparsely populated counties are fascinating and in this video I got to do two in the same day. McPherson County and Arthur County are the two least populated counties in Nebraska and rank 5th and 6th smallest in the entire country! They each have interesting (and tiny) county seats and a lot of wide open land. I happened to find a few hidden gems out there on the backroads as well!

Here are 10 really interesting and historic small towns in eastern Ohio. I started in Minerva, went down towards the West Virginia border, then back west towards Columbus. All of them have great downtowns but what was the best? Make sure to comment and see if we agree!

I remember visiting the Ohio Statehouse on a field trip about 40 years ago … actually I don’t remember it at all. But I was glad to go back and take the tour while in Columbus. Of all the capitols I’ve visited, this has the best museum so far and is very beautiful inside. The outside is unique but doesn’t stand out architecturally. How does it stack up? I rank it at the end of this video. (spoiler - I liked it)

I finally got around to making a “10 Smallest Towns” video about my home state of Ohio! And it was really fascinating to drive around and find all these tiny communities. As expected several were in the southeastern part of the state, but there were also a few in the northwest and one each in central and southwest Ohio. Lots of historic buildings and, of course, great history! Which one was your favorite?

Today’s video comes from South Dakota where I took a drive on the incredibly scenic Needles Highway and then explored the Custer State Park Wildlife Loop. And as you’ll see this was the 2nd attempt to see the wildlife. The Black Hills are always such a fun and beautiful area to visit!
