Anyway, before saying f*ck off to this platform, here is probably the most important lesson I've collected from years of wandering and wondering.

Maybe It All Starts With How You Feel

Ok, this probably sounds like bu****it to you. But honestly: who cares?!

Since I started traveling, I've met hundreds of humans. Actually, even before that. I've always known a lot of people. And I've always been fascinated by the way everyone think and behave, observing the patterns behind choices and actions.

One thing I've noticed is simple: whatever you truly expect from life, you somehow end up finding.

Please, do us all a favor and read that again...

After years on the road, I've seen that pattern repeat so often that it stopped feeling random.

Sounds crazy? Well, maybe: who cares!

If you believe you're going to get screwed over, you probably will. If you believe life has something better waiting for you, you'll start seeing that too.

It's not some mystical BS you hear on SM from people chasing likes and views. It's just something I've watched play out over and over (and over) again.

Today I met up with some lovely local friends, some of the best fellas I've ever met. Like always, we grabbed a few beers together.

Since they're all pretty remarkable people, and they've lived a little longer than I have, I asked one of them:

"How did your life end up this way? How did you become so successful during such a difficult time for your country?"

He looked at me, his eyes bright with laughter and beers, and said:

"It has nothing to do with what you do or what you've been through. It has everything to do with how you feel about it."

Then he said a few more things, but those are staying between us.

Now go read all that BS about the law of attraction and attracting your perfect soulmate without ever stopping to think about how this universe you f*cking live in actually works.

Or just do what everyone else does: take a Facebook quiz to find out which tree, flower, or random vegetable you are.

Cà phê muối, salt coffee.

The first time I heard about it, I thought someone had gone too far. Salt in coffee? No thanks.

For years, I just kept skipping it. It sounded wrong on every level.

Then a friend slid a cup across the table. She gave me a wink and said, "Trust me."

Turns out the salt doesn't make the coffee salty... It softens the bitterness of the robusta beans and lets the sweetness of the condensed milk come through, and suddenly the whole thing makes sense.

Since then, I rarely start a morning in Vietnam without one. ☕

Can you eat Vietnamese food? Even Mắm tôm?

After years traveling around Asia, I've been exposed to so many different things: people, lifestyles, mindsets, climates... But among all these experiences, food has probably been one of the biggest journeys of all.

At the beginning, I was mostly eating just to have enough energy for the day and keep things simple. A plate of fried rice, something familiar, nothing too spicy or unusual.

Then, slowly, everything changed.

I started to understand that food is one of the biggest doors into a country's culture.

Through friends inviting me to share the dishes they loved, and my curiosity slowly taking over, I began exploring the food I'd always overlooked.

Now I eat what people around me eat.

Because in the end, if they can eat it, why can't I?

So many times, when I'm sitting at a small restaurant table with friends, I see the same curious faces. They're convinced there must be one dish a foreigner won't try.

Cooks and people around the table often look surprised when they see a foreigner like me enjoying their traditional food.

Then comes the smile.

And after that smile, usually comes the next challenge:

Let's see if you're ready for this dish...

Then they pull out their phone and show me a photo of something even more unusual.
