From 1 July 2026, Vietnam does not require mandatory health declarations for all travelers. Health declarations will only be required if announced by the Ministry of Health for specific situations.

🔋NEW AVIATION REGULATIONS FOR POWER BANKS IN VIETNAM✈️

If you're traveling to or from Vietnam, here's an important update to keep in mind.

Effective 1 July 2026, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has introduced new regulations for carrying power banks on all domestic flights and international flights departing from Vietnam, in line with the latest ICAO safety guidelines.

Here's what you need to know:

✅ Carry-on only
Power banks must be packed in your carry-on baggage and are not permitted in checked luggage.

✅ Maximum quantity
Each passenger may carry up to 2 power banks.

✅ Battery capacity

Lithium-ion power banks: up to 100Wh without approval.
Between 100Wh and 160Wh: airline approval is required before travel.
Lithium metal batteries must not exceed 2g of lithium.

✅ Protect each power bank
To reduce the risk of short circuits, each power bank should be individually protected by:
• Keeping it in its original retail packaging, or
• Covering exposed terminals with insulating tape, or
• Storing it in a separate protective pouch or plastic bag.

During your flight

🔹 Remove your power bank from your carry-on bag and keep it in a visible location throughout the flight.
🔹 Charging a power bank onboard is not permitted.
🔹 Power banks must not be used to charge personal electronic devices during the flight.

These updated regulations have also been adopted by airlines operating in Vietnam as part of their enhanced onboard safety procedures.

✈️ Before you fly, make sure your power bank complies with these requirements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
