Phúc Am – The Capital of the Underworld.
In Hanoi, there is a place known by a rather intriguing name — the "Village of the Afterlife." That place is Phúc Am.

Located about 30 kilometers south of Hanoi, Phúc Am Village (Thường Tín District, Hanoi) is often referred to as the "Capital of the Afterlife." The village is renowned for producing ceremonial paper offerings and ritual objects that are deeply connected to Vietnamese spiritual traditions and folk beliefs. Its exquisitely handcrafted creations are used in the practice of the Worship of the Mother Goddesses of the Three Realms, which was inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.

But what makes Phúc Am truly special is not only its giant paper horses or its vibrant handcrafted creations.

It is the opportunity to step into the living world of a traditional craft village where heritage continues to thrive.

When you visit Phúc Am, you'll meet artisans who have dedicated their lives to this craft for generations, hear the stories behind every creation, and witness how simple bamboo and sheets of paper are transformed into remarkable works of art.

And don't rush to leave.

Stay a little longer and experience what many international travelers have already enjoyed—creating your very own traditional Vietnamese paper horse under the guidance of local artisans. From shaping the bamboo frame and gluing the paper to adding the finishing touches, every step reveals the patience, craftsmanship, and cultural values that have been preserved for generations.

Because sometimes, the best way to understand a culture isn't simply by observing it.

It's by creating a small part of it with your own hands.

VIETNAM — THE BEAUTY OF SIMPLE THINGS 🇻🇳

That beauty can sometimes be found in the peaceful rhythm of life in the countryside,
from distant islands where fishing boats ride the waves carrying the spirit and silhouette of the nation,
or in the hands of artisans who quietly keep the flame alive, preserving and spreading the traditional cultural values of craft villages that have existed for hundreds of years with sincerity and dedication.

Every land tells its own story.
Every journey brings a unique experience.

Come to Vietnam not only to see,
but to truly feel —
a beauty that is simple,
authentic,
and warm enough to make us want to return again and again ❤️

🇻🇳 **D**g Ho Folk Paintings – Colors of Heritage, Soul of Vietnam.
Tranh Đông Hồ-màu di sản, hồn dân tộc.
Long before modern printing existed, Vietnamese artisans were creating vibrant folk paintings using hand-carved wooden blocks, handmade *dó* paper, and pigments derived entirely from nature.

Every color tells a story.

Black is made from charcoal of burnt bamboo leaves. Yellow comes from the blossoms of the pagoda tree (*hoa hòe*). Red is created from laterite-rich red pebbles or the heartwood of the vang tree. Green is extracted from the leaves of the cajuput tree and giant taro (*dọc mùng*). Each natural pigment is carefully prepared by hand, preserving techniques that have been passed down through generations.

These are not just colors—they are the colors of Vietnam's land, forests, and traditions.

But D**g Ho paintings are more than beautiful colors.

Each painting captures a glimpse of traditional Vietnamese life: children at play, peaceful villages, happy families, abundant harvests, and hopes for a prosperous life. These are the values that have shaped the hearts and spirits of generations of Vietnamese people.

In every color lies a piece of heritage.

In every painting lives the soul of a nation. **gHoPainting

Vietnam – Where Beauty Is Woven Through Labor.

The beauty of Vietnam is found not only in its majestic mountains and endless coastlines, but also in the hardworking hands that shape its soul every single day.

It is the graceful image of women harvesting water lilies across tranquil waterways, preserving the simple beauty of the Mekong countryside. Every humble occupation reflects a deep sense of pride, dedication, and love for the homeland. Every drop of sweat has helped weave a Vietnam rich in identity, resilience, and vitality.

Exploring Vietnam is more than admiring breathtaking landscapes. It is an invitation to immerse yourself in local life, to discover the beauty of honest labor, vibrant traditions, and the warmth of its people.
