Sitting here working on my website, and thinking everyone says yes to the trip...until it’s time to actually book.

If you’ve ever tried to plan a group trip, you know the drill.

And somehow, you’re the one trying to keep the dream alive.

She told me she hadn’t spent an entire day alone in years.

Not one full day to herself. Not even on vacations.

Because even when the scenery changes, the responsibilities often come along for the ride, coordinating flights, finding dinner spots, making sure everyone else is taken care of.

This time, we planned something different.

A wellness escape in Costa Rica designed around stillness, softness, and space.

She stayed in a private casita where breakfast came when she was ready, the pool was steps from her bed, and no one expected a thing from her.

By day two, she sent me this:

👉 “I didn’t realize how much I needed this.”

Government Authorities/DMC/Destination Updates: Hurricane Updates

Jamaica: MBJ and KIN airports are open. Many areas are still without electricity, water and phone/internet communications. Officials are working to restore down power lines and grids. Due to some partial road blockage as a result of down trees and power lines, Amstar used a combination of suppliers and taxis to get guests to/from the airport today.
Cancun: TQO airport is closed until July 7th per airport officials. CUN airport is still open. Combination of delays, cancellations and resuming of some flight services. Due to inadequate security personnel, the security line for departures are very long, overflowing down the escalator into the check-in area. Amstar has resumed operations and is accommodating arrivals and departures scheduled for today.
Cozumel: CZM airport remains open with flights operating. There remains some power outage in the southern areas of Cozumel. Ferry services between Cancun and Cozumel remains suspended for today.
Isla Mujeres: Ferry services between Cancun and Isla Mujeres suspended until the all clear is given.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A NEW PASSPORT
Here are the materials you need to have when applying for a new passport:

A passport application form
Proof of U.S. citizenship that is original or certified, physical copy (birth certificate, certificate of naturalization, certificate of citizenship)
Photocopy of proof of citizenship (must be on white 8.5-inch-by-11-inch standard paper)
Present ID (driver’s license, government employment ID, U.S. military ID, etc.)
Photocopy of ID Passport photo (color photo taken in the last 6 months)
Full list of photo requirements can be found here.
There are additional documents needed to get a passport for children 16 and under. Those requirements can be found at travel.state.gov/.
