Everyday a carrier tells me, "I don't care if they double broker a load, I just want to get paid." Well that is the issue, sooner or later a broker that is giving loads to a fake carrier(no inspections), who is then brokering them out is going to have an issue. Maybe they gave 3 loads to the carrier side of the double brokering campaign, 1 of those is late or damaged or some sort of issue. Then the lead broker holds the money from the double brokerer, and then you don't get paid.... Even if they had all of the best intentions...when they were using a fake carrier to get the load.

Here is a list of just a few Double Brokers. These are just the ones that have been submitted to DAT Freight & Analytics by a colleague. As you can see many are still active on the platform. There are well over 100 others. Always double check carrier/broker name on your BOL to make sure you're not moving a double brokered load!

AVD Transport MC # 1210752 booking loads and then double brokering under Zeon MC # 1187682. Anyone home at DAT Freight & Analytics?

EDIT: Well that didn't end well. Zeon is on Baxter Bailey & Associates list of brokers who owe carriers money and aren't paying. DAT failed miserably at protecting it's customers once again. They were made aware of Zeon being a double broker well over 6 months ago, and multiple times. Subscription fee over protecting their customers once again.

Do better for us DAT!
