Standing at Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse in Gros Morne is an incredible experience🙂. Turn one way, and you’re looking at the historic lighthouse. Keep turning and the view opens up to the vast ocean and towering mountains meeting the water.

Gros Morne National Park has a trail for every pace. You can take it easy on scenic coastal strolls or challenge yourself on the rugged, steep mountain climbs. There’s so much to see around every corner.

For basecamps, both Harbour View RV Park and Berry Hill Campground (Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland, Canada) offer excellent places to park, rest, and take in the surroundings.

Smell that? … it’s the incredible salt sea air 🌊. What a beautiful day to soak up all nature has to offer!

After hiking to this place, I still had a smile on my face! We went up a slight incline all the way.

Incredible vistas, fabulous information about the rocks, fauna, how the earth’s mantel is now on its surface and lots of places to sit and take it all in.

If the Tablelands Trail in Gros Morne National Park is not on your bucket list, maybe today’s the day to add it. It won’t disappoint!

Golden hour at the Port au Choix Lighthouse delivered pure island magic this evening!

Just moments after encountering a beautiful herd of caribou, we watched the sun dip below the horizon.

It’s a powerful reminder that no matter where we travel, this island never ceases to amaze us with its raw, rugged beauty.

This is the stuff memories are made of 🙂.

We found the elusive caribou that live at Port au Choix! Such beautiful, majestic creatures that are native to Newfoundland. It’s amazing to witness nature in all its glory.

It was a rainy drive down from Quirpon today, but it couldn't damp our spirits after such a great time exploring the St. Anthony area!

Now we've made it to Port au Choix and just finished checking out the National Historic Site here. Fingers crossed we spot some caribou tomorrow!

Huge shout-out to Grace at the Viking RV Park in Quirpon, just a 5 minute drive to L’Anse aux Meadows!

If you’re heading up the Northern Peninsula, this is an absolute must-stop. Grace runs a fantastic spot, and her hospitality doesn't stop at the campsites.

You can’t miss the incredible food she whips up:
- Hearty, delicious breakfasts to start the day right
- Mouthwatering, homemade moose burgers
- Freshly baked pies, cookies, and classic Newfoundland tea buns

We’ll be talking more about Grace & her Viking RV Park on one of our Viking Trail videos (whenever Steve gets it edited 😳).

We’re here at L’Anse aux Meadows on the tip of Newfoundland’s Great Northern Peninsula. If you’re planning a trip out this way, you really want to give yourself enough time.

Most people can see the main historic site in about 2 to 3 hours, including the visitor centre, the reconstructed Viking buildings, and a walk out to the original archaeological area. If you’re into history or just want to take it in slowly, you could easily spend a half day here.

But getting here is half the experience. It’s a long drive, but the scenery is incredible, and once you arrive it feels like you’re at the edge of the world.

Its also important to remember that the weather here is famously unpredictable. You can get sun, wind, fog, and a bit of rain (sometimes a lot of rain!) all in the same hour. So layers are key. Even in summer, you’ll want a warm jacket.

But that’s part of the charm of this place. It’s rugged, raw, and absolutely worth the trip.
