How to Obtain a Container Booking from CMA CGM
1. Prepare Your Shipment Details
Have your shipper and consignee information, Port of Loading (POL), Port of Discharge (POD), cargo details, container type/size, Incoterms, and preferred sailing date ready.
2. Check Sailing Schedule & Request a Quote
Check the CMA CGM sailing schedule and obtain a freight quote based on your shipment details.
3. Submit a Booking Request
Log in to your myCMA CGM account, select “Create a Booking,” enter the required shipment details, and submit the request.
4. Receive Booking Confirmation
Once accepted, CMA CGM issues a Booking Confirmation containing the booking number, container details, vessel/voyage information, cut-off dates, and applicable charges.
5. Accept Booking & Make Payment
Review the booking details, accept the booking, and make any required payment according to your agreed terms.
6. Receive Equipment Release (EIR)
After the booking is confirmed and requirements are fulfilled, obtain the Equipment Interchange Receipt (EIR) or equipment release instructions.
7. Pick Up & Stuff the Container
Collect the empty container from the designated depot, inspect it, load your cargo, seal it properly, and return it to the designated terminal before the cut-off.
8. Terminal Gate-In & Vessel Loading
The terminal checks and receives the container. Once accepted, the container is moved to the yard and loaded onto the assigned CMA CGM vessel.
9. Vessel Departure & Bill of Lading
After the vessel sails, CMA CGM issues the Bill of Lading (B/L), which can be accessed through the appropriate CMA CGM channel.
