Spear Creek 🚙 🚙 🚙 Kings Canyon
Sunday we left Spear Creek which is just south of Pt Augusta, stopped in Pt Augusta for a grocery top up then head north to a Wirramina Station which was awesome, $12 for the night and only room for about 12 vans, communal fire pit.
Monday we headed to Coober Pedy which is iconic in its own way lol, staying at Tomcat Hill Van Park which was perched up on a cliff over looking the Breakaways in the distance, this place is perfect and something very different with another communal fire pit meeting people from all over this great country, all doing different trips.
Tuesday we motored north to a free camp just north of Marla called Agnes creek which was great, nice night with a few showers over night.
Wednesday we headed into the NT with a stop at the border followed by a morning stop at Kulgera for a look and laugh, before topping up and turning left at Erldunda and headed towards Kings Canyon, this place to me is by far way better than the rock but that’s my opinion. We set up camp, wandered up for sunset drinks, followed by a van cook up.
Thursday we got up early, smashed some washing before heading out to the Canyon to take on the 6k rim walk, OMG the first 500 steps were straight up then it eased into something more moderate up n over rocks and cliffs, absolutely amazing views, then detoured in the Garden of Eden for a look before heading back to the car. Quick breather and we thought we mose well smash the 2k creek walk as well due to us being fitness freaks lol. Body’s aching now but nothing a few froffys won’t fix.
Well today officially marks 1 Month on the road after leaving Adelaide minus the 2 short weeks in WA beforehand. Regrets? Hell no, different to what we thought, 100%, on budget, probably not but that’ll ease once we make it to Darwin and not fuelling daily. ⛽️ Ive repacked the cruiser a few times, Trudi’s rearranged the Van just as many times but we are slowly finding our groove, arguments? There’s been a few, but wouldn’t trade it for nothing.
