For those who don't know, Albert Willeβs work through Mind Prosperity began after studying Psychology right here at the University of the Free State, where he had initially intended to move into psychopathology. His direction shifted after entering the workplace and seeing how strongly mental health, emotional wellbeing and personal development affected people inside businesses and organisations. A meeting with Bloemfontein psychologist Dr [Oubaas] Jooste, who specialises in emotional intelligence, sharpened that focus, and Wille says that Jooste had β..opened my eyes to the profound need for emotional intelligence and the significant benefits it can bring to individuals, relationships, and organisations.β
Wille points to the research of Daniel Goleman, author of 'Emotional Intelligence', explaining why EQ has become such an important part of the conversation around success. βFor many years, people believed that attending a good school, achieving excellent grades, and having a high IQ were the primary predictors of success,β he says, β..Golemanβs research found, however, that emotional intelligence is an even stronger predictor of success in both personal and professional life!β
This is what helped shape Willeβs first business-focused course, The Emotional Intelligence Advantage, which deals with self-awareness, emotional management, relationships and collaboration. Mind Prosperityβs course offering has since expanded into areas including mindset, burnout, leadership, childhood trauma and relationship intelligence, but Wille says that three programmes are currently drawing particular attention: The Emotional Intelligence Advantage, Mindset Makeover and Beating Burnout.
He explains that Mindset Makeover focuses on the conscious and subconscious mind, and points out that many people are held back by deeper belief systems rather than surface-level behaviour alone. The course helps participants identify and challenge those limiting patterns. Beating Burnout addresses a problem he says is visible in many workplaces, but not always understood - β..many people believe that burnout is simply the result of working too hard and resting too little,β he explains, adding that this is often only part of the picture. βThe way we think and the way we feel directly shape our state of being,β he goes on, β..many people struggle not because of their circumstances, but because of a lack of awareness of their inner world.β For him, this is where change becomes possible: once thoughts and emotions can be observed, they can be understood and reshaped.
βEngaging with an audience on topics I am deeply passionate about is where I feel most alive and fully expressed,β Wille says. Many of his sessions are booked by companies, putting most of his speaking engagements inside corporate and business environments. He is also preparing to publish his first book, Living in a Spotlight, after a ten-year writing journey, and will host a Beating Emotional Burnout session with Johannes Wolfaardt, author of Struggling Stains, on 11 July 2026 at Rise and Shine Guesthouse.
