When the CEO Sits Behind the Desk
People often see me on site wearing PPE, standing next to vacuum tankers, inspecting drainage systems, or walking through facilities with my team.
And that’s important.
Because at Pro Essential Hygiene Group, we believe leadership means understanding the work on the ground.
But there’s another side to my role that people don’t always see.
The moments when I sit behind my desk.
When I review reports, maintenance schedules, compliance requirements, and operational plans, not only for our company, but for many of the facilities we support.
Because our responsibility doesn’t end when a drain is cleared or a grease trap is cleaned.
Our responsibility is making sure our clients don’t experience those problems in the first place.
When I sit behind my desk, I’m thinking about questions like:
• Are our clients’ facilities protected from preventable failures?
• Are their wastewater systems compliant with environmental regulations?
• Are their drainage infrastructures being maintained before they become emergencies?
• Are we helping operations managers sleep easier at night?
Facilities management and waste infrastructure are often invisible until something goes wrong.
- A blocked drain.
- A flooded wash bay.
- A grease trap overflow.
- A production line forced to stop.
But the truth is, these issues are rarely sudden.
They’re usually the result of maintenance that was delayed, overlooked, or underestimated.
