Due to recent incidents reported in Welkom involving allegations of sexual harassment, robbery, and missing items in vehicles, Maxicab SA would like to formally distance itself from these incidents.

We would like to clarify that there is a significant difference between Maxicab SA and Maxim. The incidents circulating on social media were reported on the Maxim App platform and are not related to Maxicab SA operations.

Unfortunately, some members of the public have started associating these incidents with Maxicab SA, which is incorrect.

At Maxicab SA, we maintain strict safety standards:

All drivers are verified

All vehicles are verified

All customer complaints are handled directly by our office

We therefore urge members of the public to stop spreading rumours or false information linking Maxicab SA to incidents that did not occur on our platform.

We also encourage customers to always verify which service they are using when booking transport.

Service Interruption Apology Notice

Dear Valued Clients,

We sincerely apologise for the service interruption experienced last night due to limited vehicle capacity. At the time, our last available vehicle was assigned to a long-distance trip for an existing client from 00h30, which affected our availability.

Additionally, our Control Room Officer was required to be on the road during this period, and poor network coverage along the route contributed to missed calls and delayed WhatsApp responses.

We take full responsibility for the inconvenience caused. As a gesture of goodwill, we kindly request all clients who attempted to request our services between 00h30 and 06h00 to send us screenshots of their call logs or messages. Eligible clients will be compensated with one (1) free ride.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We remain committed to improving our capacity and service reliability.
