COMPLIANCE IS COMING – OPERATORS MUST BE PREPARED!
ERC Provides Feedback on the KZN E-Hailing Task Team Meeting
The E-Hailing Regional Consortium (ERC) wishes to update all operators on the outcomes of the KZN E-Hailing Task Team Meeting held on 18 June 2026.
The meeting, chaired by KZN Department of Transport officials and attended by app companies and industry stakeholders, provided important updates regarding the implementation of e-hailing regulations and the operating licence application process.
Among the key developments: ✅ KZN DOT expects to open applications within the next 4 weeks.
✅ Operators will receive assistance throughout the application process.
✅ Operations should not be disrupted during the transition period.
✅ No penalties relating to operating licences or black number plates should be issued during this process.
✅ Municipalities will play a critical role in determining licence allocations.
As the ERC, we remain committed to protecting the interests of operators and ensuring that no member is left behind during the transition to compliance.
