The Glamping Innovation Challenge live pitch proved that the future of glamping is in safe hands. The high and tertiary education students pitched ideas that showcased innovation, sustainability and tech integrated. All pitches were amazing, only separated by a few points. This is something the Glamping Expo will incubate and amplify. Glamping should be accessible and ideas as the foundation. The pitching shortlist had:

The Glamping Expo 2025 showcased products and service along the glamping value chain in South Africa. The inaugural Expo entirely focused on glamping in Africa was a great launch of this annual Expo. The seminar programme had esteemed speaker tackling topics that ranged from innovation, sustainability, regenerative tourism, financing, navigating municipal regulations, research and development, global glamping trends and the power of influencer marketing in the glamping sector. The Expo also showcased a live pitch by students on the Glamping Innovation Challenge. The Glamping Awards were another highlight that awarded glamping trailblazers in South Africa. The exhibition floor buzzed with excitement and exhibitors and visitors interacted on various products that were on show.

A huge appreciation to everyone who participated at the inaugural Glamping Expo last weekend. It was an awesome experience. From the vibrant exhibition floor, insightful panel discussions, a jaw dropping live pitching session of the Glamping Innovation Challenge and the Glamping Awards, this was a perfect beginning, just the beginning. Next year, it only gets bigger and better; diverse products, bigger exhibition, more activities and a strong Buyers Programme.
