for the year 2022.

Tier Validity Extension for ShebaMiles Members

We know and understand how the current travel restrictions have impacted your travel plans, affecting your ability to keep your tier status and enjoy the benefits fully. Thus, we are pleased to announce that we have extended your tier status validity that is due to expire by the end of 2021 by one year. All current ShebaMiles members with Platinum, Gold, and Silver tier status will have their tier validity extended until December 31, 2022.

Your membership card will be updated automatically with the new expiration date of your tier status, and no further action is required by members. You can check and download your updated membership card by logging in to your ShebaMiles account through the Ethiopian mobile app or on www.ethiopianairlines.com.

Extend your Expiring Miles

You can extend the validity of your expiring miles for one more calendar year if you take eligible flights, redeem your miles for awards, buy miles, transfer miles, or use the services of our non-airline partners before December 31, 2021.

Tier Qualification Revision

The ShebaMiles Gold and Silver tier qualification requirements by flight segment will be revised to reflect the corresponding value of each tier. This change will be applied effective January 1, 2022. Visit our website for detailed information. Learn More

Tier Qualification Based on Partner Flight Segment

We have made a program change on tier qualification based on flight segments, where effective January 1, 2022 segments on partner flights will not count as tier sector. Visit our website for the updated Tier qualification requirements.

Tier Sector Count Based on Booking Class

Effective January 1, 2022, the tier qualification requirement by flight sector for economy class travels will be based on the fare class paid for flights. Visit our website for more information.

Meskel is one of the most important ecclesiastical holidays in the Ethiopian Orthodox Calender. It is also Known as ‘The Finding Of The True Cross’. Meskel is a festival in celebration of Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine, finding the true cross upon which Jesus was crucified. Mirrored in many ways by Ash Wednesday in the west, the festival competes for top billing and is considered the most important festival for the laity and ordained alike. The festival is celebrated on Meskel eve known as ‘Demera’ when bonfires are lit at dusk colorfully adorned with seasonal yellow ‘Meskel’ flowers around which is accompanied with a vibrant celebration.

Meskel day itself is observed with great celebration and festivity with friends and family in all parts of the country.

The package price range is from USD683.00 per person for double occupancy and USD824.00 per person for single occupancy and includes the following:
